The tools and strategies behind rapid scaling

let’s dive in…
Tip of the spear:
Meta is working on humanoid robots LINK
Meta has established a new division in its Reality Labs to create hardware for robots capable of performing tasks like household chores, led by Marc Whitten, former CEO of Cruise.
Instead of launching its own branded robots, Meta plans to develop AI systems, sensors, and software for robots, partnering with companies like Unitree Robotics and Figure AI to manufacture and sell them.
Meta aims to integrate data from its augmented and virtual reality devices to advance robotics and intends to create prototypes, though it may take years before these platforms are ready for the market.
YouTube Shorts now lets you create AI videos using prompts LINK
YouTube Shorts now integrates Google's Veo 2 video generation model, allowing users to create AI-enhanced clips and backgrounds using simple text prompts.
New capabilities include generating AI-based backgrounds and standalone video clips, enhancing the existing Dream Screen feature for more creative freedom in Shorts content.
Invisible SynthID watermarks will be applied to all AI-generated videos, with the features initially available in select regions and plans for global expansion in the future.
Sam Altman admits that AI’s benefits may not be widely distributed LINK
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, acknowledged that AI's advantages might not be evenly distributed and suggested concepts like a "compute budget" to ensure widespread access to AI technology.
Altman expressed concerns about AI's impact on the labor market, noting that mass unemployment could occur without appropriate governmental policies and reskilling programs in place.
He also mentioned that while AGI could solve complex problems across various fields, its development would require significant financial investment, though user access to advanced AI systems is expected to become more affordable over time.
