Tip of the spear:
Uber will deploy 20,000 autonomous taxis LINK
Uber plans to add 20,000 autonomous taxis to its network by partnering with automaker Lucid to build the vehicles and Nuro for the software.
The fleet will use modified Lucid Gravity SUVs equipped with the Nuro Driver module, a system targeting Level 4 autonomy with an Nvidia DRIVE Thor chip.
Production starts in late 2026 for a launch in a single US city, with the full rollout planned over the subsequent six years.
US passes first major national crypto legislation LINK
The US has passed its first major national crypto legislation, called the Genius Act, which President Trump is now expected to sign into law.
This new bill establishes a regulatory regime for stablecoins, requiring them to be backed one-for-one with the dollar or other similar low-risk assets.
Critics argue the measure introduces new risks by legitimizing these coins without enough consumer protections, leaving customers vulnerable if a stablecoin firm should fail.
Netflix starts using GenAI in its shows and films LINK
The company confirmed its first GenAI final footage appeared in the Argentine show “El Atonata,” where AI tools were used to create a building collapsing scene.
Executives claim the visual effect was completed 10 times faster and at a lower cost compared to production using traditional visual effect tools.
Netflix also plans to use AI for other creator tools, including pre-visualization, shot-planning, and making complex visual effects like de-aging available for smaller projects.
Prompt of the week:
I'm a founder of a [brief description of your business: industry, product/service, business model]. I want to explore high-impact, realistic ways to integrate AI into my operations, product, or customer experience.
Can you help me:
Identify areas of my business where AI could automate or enhance workflows?
Suggest specific AI use cases (e.g. recommendation engines, customer support, predictive analytics) tailored to my business?
Recommend lightweight tools or APIs I could test without heavy engineering lift?
Outline a simple roadmap for implementing the top 1–2 ideas, including success metrics?
